This video is to give you a brief overview in the construct of the business management system. Sometimes it can seem a little bit difficult when you think of three different components to your business and three different softwares that match it. So I’ll try to explain that a little bit. I think this will help out quite a bit. So first, your home watch business really contains three main functions. The first is you’re going to have finances. You have to track your profit and loss, your expenses, generate invoices, receive payments. Finances is a core part of any business.
(0:51 - 1:28)
Then in a home watch business, it’s normal to have some sort of reporting. So this is your checklist of things you’re going to examine when you’re at a property. Allows you to take notes, pictures, and then send a professional looking report off to your client afterwards. And the last component of your home watch business is your operations management. So think of operations as your scheduling and tracking where your employees are and your different properties and how those all interact. So the whole idea is with the operations, finance
(1:29 - 2:08)
And the reporting, you cover all of the different aspects of your business. And this is how we have mapped the home watch it full business management system, whether it be Core pro or the expert level packages you have. All three will cover the three components that we’ve just talked about. You’ve got the accounting system. We usually use QuickBooks, but we can also use Zero. You have the reporting system. We usually use a program called idi, but there are a couple others that are coming up available and you of course have the Home Watch business management
(2:08 - 2:48)
System for Method, the Home watch IT system, which ties it all together and is the crux of your operations. Now you sometimes say, well gosh, you’ve got three different pieces of software doing three different components. Why not one? Well it it really functions as one, but it is doing three different things. And the three things are very distinct and separate. So compare this to Microsoft Office, which most everybody has used at one point. Even though Microsoft Office is really one program, there’s multiple pieces of it that do different tasks. You have Microsoft Word to do your documents,
(2:48 - 3:27)
You have Microsoft Excel to do spreadsheets, you have PowerPoint to do presentations. And just like you wouldn’t try to use Excel to write a document or word to do a Spreadsheet, you always use the tool that’s best for the task at hand. Again, when our business, whether it be reporting or management or finance, the nice thing also about this construct is that these pieces can be replaced. If you decide someday you don’t like eye auditor and wanna replace it with a different reporting system, it can be snapped in. Same thing if you don’t like QuickBooks and they rather use an accounting system like Zero, it can be snapped in.
(3:27 - 3:56)
By making things modular, you have much more flexibility. One last point is just remember that majority of your work will be done in the home Watch IT system. In the business management system, iAuditor functions as just a documentation tool to do the report. All of your operations will take place within home. Watch it, use the proper tool, it’ll all work together and it’ll make it easier for you to manage your business.
