How to email or notify customers about a price increase

After you have entered in your price increase information using the Price Planning screens, you can easily email your clients about the increase.
First, you should validate the contents of Email Template called “Price Update Email” in the email template editor. It is initially set to a very simple template, but you should update the wording to fit your particular situation.
The original content of the template is:
Dear Entity.FirstName,
The purpose of this email is to let you know that effective EFFECTIVEDATE, your ActivityJobItemsChanges.ItemDescription rate will increase to ActivityJobItemsChanges.RateNew.

You should make note of the variables used which are important:
EFFECTIVEDATE - will be populated with the effective date you entered for the increase
ActivityJobItemsChanges.ItemDescription – will populate with the item description of the item that received the increase (Like Home Watch Visit)
ActivityJobItemsChanges.RateNew – will be the new rate that has been assigned.
These changes will be shown in the example below.
Once the template has been set, you can go to the Price History screen in order to send the emails to your clients. Go to the Price Planning screen and click on Price History in the upper right corner.
The Price History screen is where you will make the email process happen. Below is the recommended setup for this screen to do the emails, however, you can play with the options and use those that make sense for your current requirement.
In this example, we are showing all customers and all items that have a new price effective on April 1, 2023. You most likely will do the same except put in the date that your price increase is effective. That will then display all of the customers that have a price increase on the date selection and you will be able to review the Item, the Old Price, as well as the New Price.
When read to email, select the customers you wish to email by checking the checkbox before each client, and press the Email Selected Clients button.
This will then bring up the email setup section of the screen as shown in the screenshot below. If you wish to use your template select it from the dropdown, otherwise you can just type in the message you wish to send. Using the template can be easier as it is already populated with the variable names that were mentioned above.
Make any other edits you wish to the email subject or body. When ready, press the Send button and the emails will be sent for each customer that you checked above.
To compare the template with the data on the screens above, the following is the final email that was sent to the customer:
Dear Seamus,
The purpose of this email is to let you know that effective 4/1/2023, your Home Watching - House Basic - Weekly rate will increase to $75.00.
