Dynamic Templates with MonitorQA

You can have an unlimited number of “custom” templates generated from a single master template using the Dynamic Templates feature now part of HWIT Business Management System. Attributes from a Property can automatically include or exclude sections on a report template.

As an example, if the Property has an Attribute of Pool set to Yes, the questions pertaining to the Pool can be automatically included in the report. If there is no pool, the questions are not included.

The following examples will illustrate how to perform this.

First, you should set up your Attributes and assign them to the Properties you wish to use. You can follow this guide to learn about Attributes. (If you are using the HWIT Starter Kit, you should use this guide instead.)

Once the Attributes are created, you can start using them on your MonitorQA template.

In this template, we set up separate sections for Pool & Spa, Pool Only, Spa Only – each with a different set of questions pertaining to that particular scenario (pool only, spa only, or both).  

To have a section be included in the report, based on the value of an Attribute you add, you can turn on the Visible slider.

When you do, a line will appear allowing you to select the case in which you want this section to be visible in the report. Select Pool, and then a value of Pool & Spa.

You can use Attributes to turn on sections of a report dynamically based on the properties’ requirements – thus allowing you to have just a single master template in your MQA library, that can generate hundreds of different template combinations whenever needed.

As an example, if you have a mix of condos and houses, you can turn on the Landscaping questions for the houses only by adding a Landscaping Attribute.

You can get very specific and add questions pertaining to many different scenarios using Attributes. Just a few examples:

• Water Feature
• Wine Cellar
• Fire Feature
• Casita/Guesthouse
• Boat Dock
• Boat House
• Elevator
• Barn
• Game Room
• Golf Cart
• Lanai
• Basement

The list is basically endless….

We think this feature will make template editing and management a thing of the past!
